Our website terms of use document is intended for use in England and Wales in relation to websites with common kinds of interactive features, such as blogs, bulletin boards, forums and chat rooms.

The terms of use document includes the following provisions:

  • a licence of the copyright in the website (and restrictions on what may be done with the material on the website);
  • a disclaimer of liability;
  • a clause governing the use of passwords and restricted areas of the website;
  • an acceptable use clause;
  • a variation clause;
  • an entire agreement clause;
  • a clause specifying the applicable law and the jurisdiction in which disputes will be decided; and
  • a provision specifying some of the information which needs to be disclosed under the Ecommerce Regulations.

Use the document without paying

If you would like to use the terms and conditions without paying a licence fee, you are welcome to do so, but you must leave the Website-law.co.uk credit and link in the document.

Pay for a licence

If you would like to use the terms and conditions without including the Website-law.co.uk link and credit you will need to pay a licence fee (currently £20.00 per website). Although we do not place any technological restrictions on the downloading of the documents, we do regularly scour the internet for copies of the documents that have been used contrary to the terms of our document licence.
